Renewable energy
At the end of 2024, Pluspetrol acquired the Peralta I & II and Cerro Grande wind farms in the Departments of Tacuarembó and Cerro Largo, Uruguay. This acquisition positions Pluspetrol as the holder of the country’s second-largest private renewable energy generation portfolio.
In 2024, the generation from these wind farms accounted for 3.2% of the total energy produced in the country, helping to reduce the carbon footprint of its energy matrix by approximately 25,000 tons of CO2eq. This reaffirms Pluspetrol’s commitment to promote sustainable energy development for the well-being of current and future generations.
