CAMISEA
CAMISEA

It is the most important gas mega-field in Latin America. Operated by Pluspetrol, it is an international icon and model.

The operation is an exemplary display of engineering, logistics development and infrastructure in a context of high social and environmental sensitivity. An off-shore inland strategy is applied on the site, which consists of reproducing sea production techniques for ground operations (air and river logistics, without making roads).

Pluspetrol operates in a consortium integrated by Hunt Oil, SK Energy, Tecpetrol, Repsol and Sonatrach, producing condensate and natural gas in Blocks 88 and 56.

PISCO, FROM THE PLANT TO THE HOME

To complement activities in Camisea, we have built a natural gas liquids fractionation plant and a shipping terminal in Pisco. This operation represents a major challenge due to the technological complexity of installing underwater pipelines in an ecotourism and environmentally sensitive area.

CAMISEA: SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT AND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

Pluspetrol demonstrates a strong commitment to ensuring that all of its operations are conducted in harmony with the environment. As we understand the environmental and social complexity of the region, environmental and social management was considered a key aspect when defining alternative designs and operation techniques for the Camisea project. Since the region is known for its high biological diversity, specific environmental management tools were designed, including management measures aimed at minimizing intervention and implementing participatory environmental programs that are sustainable over time.

COMMUNITY

This has created around 5,000 job opportunities for native communities and rural settlements of Bajo Urubamba
